Summer surveys show support for marketing coalition

Special to the DailyConstance Jones

The Summit County Chamber of Commerce presented an inaugural economic summit on Nov. 3 in the Copper Mountain Conference Center and surveys from participants show strong support to create a broad-based coalition to address marketing issues. The historic event gave Summit County stakeholders an open forum to learn more about the economic challenges facing our destination resort industry and what we can expect in the future. The chamber plans to make the summit a semi-annual event with the next session to be sponsored by Vail Resorts and held in Keystone in spring 2005. In preparation for the next economic summit, small group roundtable discussions are being planned for early 2005 to address the key issues identified at the forum.
