Q: How long have you been a member of the Summit Chamber?A: I’ve been a member since its inception, 25 years ago.

Q: Why is it important for you to be a member today?A: Chambers of commerce are always important in any time as a focal point for business communications, economic development and networking. They are a trusted source for information and assistance for small business.Q: What are some of the profound changes you’ve seen in Summit County during the last quarter century that the Summit County Chamber of Commerce has been in existence?

A: Growth … growth … growth. We have gone from a community with one stoplight to the current traffic congestion. We have gone from a small community to a county with good-sized schools, rec centers, amenities for locals and tourists both and a strong economic base.Q: In your opinion, what are some of the notable achievements that the Chamber has made over the last 25 years?

A: Running visitors centers and knowing when not to. Maintaining a constant visibility and availability for business in Summit County to learn, participate and network. Providing member benefits to small businesses.Q: Going forward, what are some of the challenges Summit County will face, and in what ways can the Summit Chamber address them?A: Fragmentation … competition between communities who should be united as “Experience the Summit.” The Chamber can continue with current efforts to help businesses around the county have a single voice.
