Summit Community Orchestra’s annual Holiday Benefit Concert
December 2, 2005
The Summit Community Orchestra will host its second annual Holiday Benefit Concert on Sunday, Dec. 11, at 4 p.m. in the Summit High School Auditorium. Dr. Kenneth Evans will be the conductor. The concert will benefit the instrumental programs at the Summit middle and high schools. Last year, the Summit Community Orchestra was able to give the schools $3,000 through generous public donations. The program will feature dances from the Nutcracker Suite with the Summit Community Orchestra and the Summit School of Dance. The orchestra will also perform holiday songs with the high school orchestra, and seasonal favorites, including selections from Handel’s Messiah, with the Summit Choral Society. During the concert, we will feature small musical ensembles from the middle school and high school. The concert is free, but we would appreciate donations to benefit the middle and high school instrumental music programs. The concert will be followed by an hors d’oeuvre reception.
