Summit Concert Band spring concert set for Wednesday

DAILY NEWS STAFF REPORT
Dillon, Colorado

Join the Summit Concert Band for a celebration of spring Wednesday, at 7 p.m. at Lord of the Mountains Lutheran Church in Dillon.

Under the direction of Patrick Fagan, the band will be performing several popular types of concert band music. Folk dance tunes of the “Old American Country Set” and “Running Set” bring the tradition of an old-fashioned barn dance. A “Snow Day Celebration” evokes the energy and wonder of those last few powder days of spring. A terrific arrangement of from “The Beatles: Love,” inspires springtime romance and will have the audience singing along. And, of course, there will be a march ” just a enough to get your toes tapping!

The Summit Concert Band consists of amateur musicians from Summit and the surrounding counties. Several seasonal visitors also join us every winter. And, we will enjoy our final concert with Chris Campbell, who is a senior graduating from Summit High School. We welcome woodwind, brass and percussion players of all abilities.

Thanks to the continuing financial support of The Summit Foundation, Wells Fargo Bank and Qwest admission to our concerts is always free.
