Summit County Ambulance Service celebrates EMS Week

The American College of Emergency Physicians designates one week in May every year to celebrate pre-hospital emergency care providers. This year the celebration is held between May 14 and May 20. The week kicked off with a blood drive Sunday at the Community and Senior Center. This event was sponsored in conjunction with Bonfils. Summit County Ambulance Service will also sponsor a first aid class free to the public from 6-10 p.m. Wednesday. The class will be held at the “Keep the Beat Office” in Frisco located in the Columbine Square Complex on Summit Boulevard in Frisco. Class size is limited and registration is mandatory. Call (970) 668-9466 for registration and information.The Red, White and Blue Fire Department will also conduct free health checks until Saturday. EMTs will check blood pressure, oxygen levels and blood sugar levels for free, as well as answer minor health questions.
