Summit Music and Arts welcomes the return of Duo Esprit, a harp and viola group, at 4 p.m. on Sunday at Lord of the Mountains, 56 Highway. 6 in Dillon.
The program “Esprit Encore!” – performed by Ann Marie Liss, harp, and Basil Vendryes, viola – will feature music of Ferrante, Malloy, Kehn, Goldfinger and Berg (all written for Duo Esprit), as well as music of Vaughan Williams, Chopin, Gershwin and Bridge. The Douglas Mendel Cambodian Relief Fund is having a fundraiser at Ollie’s in Breckenridge from 7-10 p.m. on April 4 to raise $4,000 for an engine rebuild for the firetruck the group donated for use in Cambodia. Please come enjoy an evening of fun and bidding on 65 silent-auction items from local restaurants and businesses.
Swan Center Outreach is hosting a new volunteer training class from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 6. Come learn what it means to be a part of the Swan Center team. Swan Center Outreach provides leadership and self-awareness programs with rescued horses that empower and support youth and adults in the achievement of their life goals, while demonstrating the educational, therapeutic and spiritual values of a loving relationship with animals. Parents who would like to visit Summit County Preschool for summer and fall enrollment are invited to an enrollment open house from 10 a.m. to noon and from 3-5 p.m. on Thursday, April 25. Stop in during those times to visit classrooms, meet our teachers and complete paperwork for enrollment. Refreshments will be provided and all of your questions about SCP will be answered!
Advocates for Victims of Assault is hosting a Black Tie Bingo event from 6-10 p.m on Saturday, April 6 at the Elks Lodge in Silverthorne. Tickets are $50, or you can buy a table of eight for $350.

The Frisco Recreation Department is offering a variety of summer sports camps and Frisco Fun Club, a summer day camp. In-person registration opens for Frisco Fun Club from 5-7p.m. on Monday, April 8 at the Frisco Day Lodge.
The Alpine Earth Center in Silverthorne is screening “Dirt! The Movie” at 4 p.m. on April 14 and 6 p.m. on April 17. For this movie, presenters will be Sherie Sobke, from Alpine Earth Center, and Jen Santry, from High Country Conservation Center. Upcoming movies: “Dirt! The 2013 Seedling Trees for Conservation program is wrapping up for the season. Seedlings are grown at the Colorado State Forest Service Nursery in Fort Collins and are made available to Summit County property owners through the Colorado State University Extension office in Frisco. Orders for seedlings must be received by the office on or before Friday, April 12. Seedlings will be delivered to Frisco for pick-up on May 1 and 2. Learn how to buy a house from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on April 13 in the Buffalo Mountain Room at the County Commons in Frisco. You will learn the basics, from A to Z, of what it takes to purchase a home. The class is free and is sponsored by the Colorado Housing and Finance Authority, and put on by the Summit Combined Housing Authority with help from local volunteers who will walk you through the lending process, real estate transaction, title company portion and home inspection. Registration is now open for the 37th annual Salomon Run the Rockies weekend on June 8-9. Registration is available online at http://www.RuntheRockies.com. Current discounted prices are $50 for the half marathon and $40 for the 10K. The trail race registration is $40 for the 5K and 10K. Prices go up May 1st. Day-of registration will be available for both races. The Breckenridge Heritage Alliance is seeking nominations for the second annual Theobald Award to recognize outstanding contributions to the history of the Breckenridge area. The award will identify a person, business or project that exemplifies the town’s commitment to historic preservation, celebrates the history of Breckenridge in a unique way, demonstrates leadership and volunteerism, or both, for historic preservation and heritage tourism, and uncovers new facts or stories about Breckenridge’s history.
