Yes, it’s springtime in the Rockies and time to clean out your closets, garage, etc. Are you looking for a nonprofit agency to donate all of those sporting goods, household items, clothing, antiques, appliances, books, etc.? Otherwise, you may bring your clean/useable donations to Our Lady of Peace Church, 19 Straight Creek Dr., Dillon, on June 23, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Your tax-deductible monetary donation will also help to defray our expenses. Consider helping those in need in Summit.

Tom Dickey is retiring after 22 years of coaching and teaching in Summit County. Join him for a farewell party on Saturday from 2-4 p.m. at Byron Walter Park in Frisco.

The 5th Annual “Cowboy Ball” is Saturday, June 4 at Copper Mountain Conference Center from 7-11 p.m. with live entertainment by Walker Williams and his band and line dancing with Michael “Tex” DeGarie. There will be a fabulous silent auction, appetizers and a cash bar. Tickets are $20 in advance and $22 at the door. The Summit Lake Dillon Optimist Club is having its annual golf tournament fundraiser on June 20, at the River Course in Keystone. Tournament fees are $125 per golfer and include cart, driving range usage, box lunch and a gift bag. Come for a fun day of golf and help support our local club so we can support Summit County’s youth. Put a team together, sponsor a hole or advertise your business by donating a silent auction gift. Would you enjoy sharing your “gift of music” with St. John the Baptist Episcopal Church, located at 100 South French St., in Breckenridge? If so, we need vocalists for our choir, which will be rehearsing on Sundays at 9:45 a.m. in preparation to sing at the 10:30 services each week. The Family and Intercultural Resource Center is looking for community members willing to be volunteers with other-than-English language skills, to be shared with schools and community agencies as a resource for events, activities, conferences, etc. We’d like to include volunteers able to serve as interpreters/translators for Spanish, French, Polish, Czech or any other language spoken in Summit.
