Marina says thank you
On behalf of the Frisco Bay Marina staff, I would like to thank you, our loyal customers. To those of you who rented a boat and experienced our beautiful lake this summer, thank you for your continued patronage and support on the water. To those of you who stored your boat with us and spent time out on the water enjoying your boat, thank you for your continued support and your willingness to work with us and the unpredictable water levels. We could not have predicted that we would have as much water as we received this summer. We are now getting excited about the predictions for next year that indicate we will be back up to normal water levels.
As the hot summer is coming to a close and our beautiful fall season is almost here, I want to remind everyone that the wind is always better for sailing in the fall, the colors are more beautiful from a kayak, and the fish will spawn soon. Please stop by and let us thank you in person for being an integral part of the Frisco Bay Marina.
— Jenn Shimp, Phil Hofer and the Frisco Bay Marina staff

Host a foreign student
Hosting a foreign student can bring a whole new perspective to your family. Having someone from another country stay in your home can be a real eye-opener for kids and parents alike. Suddenly your “American-ness” is showing. The ordinary way you do things, the typical activities and rhythms of your day are revealed as not the only way or best way of doing something. The thought of hosting an international student might be intimidating at first. “What if he hears me yelling at the kids?” “What if she thinks we are total freaks?” But don’t fear! Students adapt quickly and won’t embarrass you or tell your family secrets. There is something about being a part of a family that instills that even in an apparent stranger. The beauty is that after a few weeks, that stranger suddenly becomes an integral part of your family. For information on hosting a student please contact Mary Elizabeth Johnson at (303) 709-2180 or visit http://www.edutrav.org
