Summit County Community Notes: 9-9-2012

Our gardeners had an amazing and bountiful harvest this year and we invite everyone to come see the success! We are hosting a Harvest Party on Sunday at 4 p.m. at Silvana’s Community Gardens in Silverthorne (next to the rec center). This event is open to the public. Bring a dish to share and your own beverages.

Synagogue of the Summit (SOS) is holding a youth-oriented presentation and discussion with Rabbi Joel Schwartzman on Sunday from 10-11:30 a.m. at the north branch of the Summit County Libraries, 651 Center Circle in Silverthorne. This event is open to SOS religious and Hebrew school students and their parents, as well as all other children in the community. The focus will center on all aspects of the upcoming High Holidays (Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur). RSVP to Sue Payer at (970) 468-9529, or spayer@yahoo.com.

Learn how to move photos from your camera to your computer, how to organize and store photos and how to edit, touch up and improve photos using Picasa, a free photo-editing software that is very useful. The class will take place on Tuesday from 10 a.m. to noon at the Summit County Community and Senior Center in Frisco, and cost is only $5 per person to attend. Questions? Call (970) 668-2940.
