Summit County Department of Motor Vehicles closes as it moves to County Commons

Summit County government announced Wednesday that the Department of Motor Vehicles would not be open Wednesday and Thursday, Sept. 6-7.

The department is moving from the County Courthouse in Breckenridge to County Commons in Frisco, near the main branch of the Summit County Library, which is at 37 Peak One Drive. The exact address to the Department of Motor Vehicles was not disclosed.

“For years, the DMV was located at County Commons. We think this location will better serve all residents with ample free parking and easy access from Highway 9,” said Summit County Clerk Taryn Power.

The building is expected to open on Friday, Sept. 8, to the public.

Drivers licenses and ID services are provided by the state of Colorado on the lower level of County Commons.
