Summit County: Donated vehicles sought for fire training

DAILY NEWS STAFF REPORT

The Summit Fire Authority is seeking donated vehicles – in any condition, running or not – for use in critical “extrication” training at the High Country Training Center in which rescuers practice using the Jaws of Life and other tools needed to save accident victims.

Donors may claim the value of their vehicles as a charitable contribution and know they are contributing to the vital training of local emergency crews in the Summit Fire Authority: Lake Dillon Fire-Rescue, the Red, White and Blue Fire Protection District and the Copper Mountain Fire Department.

Donors must be able to push, pull, drag or drive their vehicles to the High Country Training Center and provide written authorization and the title to the Training Center. HCTC is located at 0225 County Road 1003 in the County Commons in Frisco.
