Summit County Drug Task Force makes bust

BRECKENRIDGE – The Summit County Drug Task Force announced Friday that its agents have made one arrest and seized numerous illegal drugs in its most recent bust on marijuana growing operations.

This is the third bust of a marijuana growing operation in recent months.

According to a statement from the task force, officers obtained a search warrant for a residence in Silverthorne. Upon searching the home, officers found just less than one-half pound of marijuana, .76 grams of methamphetamine, cocaine and 7.23 grams of psilocybin mushrooms. They also confiscated marijuana growing equipment and 40 small plants.

Officers sought the search warrant after contacting residents about a stolen car. The car was reported stolen to the Summit County Sheriff’s Office, and the Colorado State Patrol learned that the car was involved in an accident on Interstate 70. When a sheriff’s deputy and two state patrol troopers contacted a resident at the home, drug paraphernalia and suspected marijuana were in plain sight.

The task force made one arrest, but did not release any names of suspects as the investigation is ongoing.
