Summit County Garden Club work session today

Summit County Garden Club invites all residents of the county, both full and part time, to join them in a new season of gardening activities. Membership in the nonprofit organization is $20 annually which includes one ticket to the private garden tour which will be on July 24.

Our first meeting of the year will be held on June 8, at the Summit County Community and Senior Center in Frisco at 7 p.m. The topic will be “Composting in the High Country.” The meeting is open to the public. Other activities during the season include field trips, work sessions on community garden spaces the club funds and maintains, a progressive dinner and tour of members’ gardens and various speakers on high altitude gardening.

This year we are having work sessions every Wednesday from 10 a.m. to noon and all are welcome to come help us with this effort. Bring gloves and garden tools and join us and learn about the challenges and joys of gardening in our unique environment. There will be a garden club member at each work session. First session is today.

For an application to join go to or call Beverly at (970) 453-3492.
