Summit County Libraries recognize Volunteer of the Year

Special to the Daily/Jen Miller

FRISCO – The Summit County Libraries celebrated the end of a busy and successful year at their annual Holiday Party on Friday, January 28, at the Summit County Commons. 2010 found an increase in visitor numbers, as well as an increase in visits through online visitors.

During the celebration, the Van Woodford Special Service Award was given to Ron and Kathy Schuman, of Frisco. This award is given out each year to people, chose by staff and board members, who have dedicated a significant amount of their time, energy and effort toward assisting the library. Past award recipients include Joyce Dierauer, Cass Dombrowski, Carolyn Wiseman, Janet Good, Maggie Cox and Susan Donaldson.

To find out you can get involved with the library, through volunteer opportunities with upcoming events, or how you can help the Summit County Libraries through donations, please call Joyce Dierauer, at (970) 668-5555 or contact her by e-mail at; visit our new website at; add our Facebook page to your favorites; follow us on Twitter at @SummitLibraries; or simply come by and check with us at any of our three locations, in Frisco, Breckenridge and Silverthorne.
