Summit County Library begins annual summer reading program
The Summit County Library’s free summer reading program starts June 9 and has challenges and events for all ages, from toddlers to adults. This year’s program, themed “Color Our World,” runs through Aug. 9.
With special events, challenges and prizes, the program looks to keep up students’ reading skills, encourage reluctant readers and make reading a habit, according to a news release.
Participants can sign up for reading challenges on Beanstack, a reading tracking platform, and earn badges for completing activities. Each badge earns a ticket for a grand prize drawing at the end of the summer, and those who earn all their badges will win a prize, which varies by age range.
The summer program will also feature weekly events at each library branch, three special celebrations for the start, middle and end of the season and other events.
Check out all the events and prizes and sign up for a reading challenge at SummitCountyLibraries.org/summer.

The full project is expected to cost about $165,000. All donations made in 2023 will go directly toward this project.
Every contribution, no matter the size, will make a difference.
