Summit County Library seeks book sale volunteers

Summit County Library needs volunteers to assist with the upcoming book and bake sale held by the Summit County Friends of the Library. The money generated from the book sale will provide much-needed funds for the libraries and is used to sponsor programs which benefit both residents and visitors in Summit County.

Donations of any type of baked goods, such as pies, brownies, cookies, cakes and breads, are requested and appreciated. We also need people to help set up for the sale Dec. 2, around 3 p.m., in the Buffalo Mountain Room at the Main Branch, in Frisco. We also need assistance during the sale, which runs on Dec. 3, from noon to 6 p.m. and Dec. 4 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. In addition, help is requested during the take-down process, which will begin promptly at 5 p.m. at the completion of the sale.

If you are available at any of these times, and would like to help out your local library, call Joyce Dierauer, at (970) 668-5555.

As a Summit Daily News reader, you make our work possible.

Summit Daily is embarking on a multiyear project to digitize its archives going back to 1989 and make them available to the public in partnership with the Colorado Historic Newspapers Collection. The full project is expected to cost about $165,000. All donations made in 2023 will go directly toward this project.

Every contribution, no matter the size, will make a difference.
