Summit County: Make A Difference Day looking for sites

DAILY NEWS STAFF REPORT

Make A Difference Day 2010 is looking for sites for the 12th annual volunteer event to be held Oct. 9.

Make A Difference Day is a national day of giving back to communities held locally the second Saturday of each October. Over 500 volunteers mobilize to provide work at over 25 sites in Summit County. Volunteer service ranges from building and maintaining trails to planting trees to painting to cleaning computers and classrooms.

Make A Difference Day sites are local nonprofits, schools and government agencies/departments. The event is a great opportunity to complete organizational projects and even recruit new volunteers.

As a project site, you provide supplies, tools, and a project and Make A Difference Day provides volunteers. To register as a Make A Difference Day site, visit http://www.summitpreventionalliance.

org. Sites must complete and fax their applications by Oct. 1. For more info, contact Kari Read at (970) 453-9333.
