The Mentor of the Month is Bruce Taylor and his mentee is DJ.

Q: What is one of your favorite things to do with the young person you are mentoring?

A: Taking a hike. We get to enjoy nature and talk about anything that comes to mind.

Q: Who is the most influential person in your life?

A: My father. He instilled in me a curiosity that has kept me open to learning new things every day.

Q: Where is the most interesting place you have traveled and why?

A: Guatemala. To interact with people from such a different culture is such a window to look into our own.

Q: Share an experience that made an impact on you.

A: Being out of money in Guatemala and working for meals.

Q: What words of wisdom would you pass on to someone who is thinking about becoming a mentor?

A: All of us, young and old, need a little support sometimes. Just “being there” for someone could be all they need to help them thrive.
