A woman with a secret is murdered in a quiet mountain town.

For two years, the mystery that haunted Silverthorne was, who killed Stephanie Roller Bruner?

NBC’s Dateline will explore that mystery in an hour-long special tonight dedicated to the brutal murder case that shook Summit County.

Dale Bruner, the husband who was indicted and later convicted of Roller Bruner’s murder, talked to producers for the special about what happened in the weeks leading up to his wife’s disappearance, his unraveling marriage, Roller Bruner’s affair with another man and Bruner’s suspicions about that man, according to “Dateline” representatives.

Roller Bruner’s friends and family, defense attorney Robert Bernhardt and prosecutor Mark Hurlbert also gave interviews for the special.

The Bruner story airs at 9 tonight on NBC.
