Summit County Police Blotter: Woman outstays welcome after party
Editor’s note: The police blotter is written from incident reports provided by local police departments and the Summit County Sheriff’s Office. All individuals named are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
Woman spitting mad after arrest
A woman who allegedly refused to leave a residence the morning after a party was charged with first-degree criminal trespass, resisting arrest and second-degree assault.
The resident of the unit called authorities after he repeatedly asked the woman, who he said he didn’t know, to leave the apartment, according to a report from the Summit County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies reportedly found the woman in a robe, apparently still intoxicated, in a room belonging to a different roommate who had left the residence. She allegedly refused to cooperate with law enforcement’s instructions to get dressed, gather her things and leave, insisting she had permission to be there, according to the report.
Deputies stated in the report they placed her under arrest after spending some time trying to get her to leave willingly. She allegedly resisted arrest, kicking and wrapping her legs around a door to prevent being removed from the apartment, according to the report.
Deputies were reportedly able to get the woman out of the unit and to the Summit County Jail, where she allegedly spit at two other deputies as she was being removed from the patrol car, according to the report.
SCSO: Playing hard to get
A man seen stumbling down a street in Breckenridge in the snow allegedly tried to run and hide from a deputy Feb. 18 when he stopped to offer him help getting home.
The man, who appeared to be intoxicated, reportedly ran away from the deputy and attempted to hide behind a small tree when he stopped to offer him assistance, according to a report from the sheriff’s office.
The report states he later told authorities he ran away because he knew he had a warrant out for his arrest for failure to appear on a previous DUI-related offense out of El Paso County.
The man was transported to the jail, where he refused a breath test allegedly telling deputies, “you already know I’m drunk.”
He was issued a penalty assessment citation for “pedestrian intoxicated on a roadway,” according to the report.
SCSO: Man busted for distribution
Authorities allegedly discovered “copious amounts” of marijuana – less than 5 pounds – in a local apartment after contacting the resident regarding accusations that he had sold drugs to another individual.
The man admitted to selling an ounce of marijuana to another man who had been arrested after being found in possession of both marijuana and mushrooms the previous day, according to a sheriff’s office report.
When authorities contacted the alleged distributor, he consented to a search of his house, which the report states revealed large amounts of marijuana. The man reportedly said he owned half of the drugs in the house, his roommate owned the other half, and was reportedly growing marijuana in his bedroom, according to the report.
He was charged with distribution of less than 5 pounds marijuana.
