special to the daily

With one more month to go in 2009 this much is clear: Prices have not dropped in Summit County by nearly as much as many buyers think or hope they have. Although sales are off by 33%, the average sale price is down only 2.5% year to date. And for the first time in over 2 years, monthly sales beat last year’s. It is probable that by early next year, sales will equal those of 2007 once again. There were a total of 2056 properties listed for sale last week as the inventory steadily declines.
