Summit County Rescue Group, Sheriff’s Office respond to assist sick hiker on Quandary Peak

The Summit County Sheriff’s Office and Summit County Rescue Group responded to assist a sick hiker Friday afternoon about 3 miles from the Quandary Peak trailhead outside Breckenridge, according to Sheriff Jaime FitzSimons. A picture posted on social media around 2:20 p.m. Friday also showed a Flight for Life helicopter parked near the Quandary Peak trailhead.

The rescue was ongoing around 3 p.m. Friday, and FitzSimons said he had no further information at that time.
