School canceled Friday as snowfall accumulates in Summit County

All Summit School District schools are closed Friday.

In an email sent to the district early Friday, Director of Communications Kerstin Anderson wrote the closure was “Due to overnight snowfall, a predicted incoming band of snow during the morning commute, scheduled road closures on I-70, known hazardous and icy road conditions around the county, and temperatures expected to hover around freezing throughout the day.”

Interstate 70 was closed for much of Thursday evening and in the morning Friday. Loveland Pass remains closed Friday morning.
