Summit County searches for Wintergreen day care facility contractor
Summit County government will soon accept a bid for the construction of Wintergreen day care facility, according to county officials.
The original Village at Wintergreen development blueprints, made in 2019, designated the area for a day care facility. Kimball Crangle, the Colorado market president of Gorman & Co., said the facility is a project within the jurisdiction of Summit County government and not Wintergreen.
The day care will be located to the right of the existing driveway that leads into the Wintergreen neighborhood. According to the site plan found on the proposal webpage, a new parking lot will be added onto the driveway, with the day care built at the end.
With over 600 children on the waitlist for child care as of Feb. 2022, there has been a need for more day care facilities in the county, according to recent county meeting discussions.
A final selection is scheduled to be made on Aug. 1.
