Summit County Sheriff’s Office investigating after human remains discovered near Officer’s Gulch

The Summit County Sheriff’s Office is investigating after human remains were discovered near Officer’s Gulch, which is located off Interstate 70 between Frisco and Copper Mountain.

According to a social media post by the Sheriff’s Office, a hiker discovered the decomposed body of a male near Officer’s Gulch the afternoon of Friday, Oct. 4.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, the investigation so far shows no elevated risk to public safety and the body is currently in the custody of the Summit County Coroner’s Office.



“Our hearts go out to the family and friends affected by this loss of life,” Sheriff Jaime FitzSimons stated in the post.
