Summit County to host Holocaust educational initiative
April 20, 2010
FRISCO – Starting on April 27 at 7:15 p.m., the Chabad Jewish Center in Frisco will host “Beyond Never Again” – a course about the Holocaust – for six consecutive Tuesdays. Timed to coincide with Yom Hashoah, the course will premiere in more than 300 locations worldwide, including Summit County.
Created by the Rohr Jewish Learning Institute, “Beyond Never Again” has won support from the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum, Yad Vashem, and more than 100 centers and institutes devoted to studying the Holocaust around the world. “Beyond Never Again” examines the universal themes that the Holocaust forces people to confront, such as the nature of good and evil, and how empathy and conscience may be nurtured.
The course is formulated as a series of facilitated discussions that will enable participants to articulate their personal responses to the Holocaust, and provides relevant angles on some of life’s most difficult questions pertaining to faith and suffering.
Rabbi Dovid Mintz of the Chabad Jewish Center will be teaching the course. For more information, call (970) 476.7887 or visit http://www.JewishBreckenridge.com.
