Special to the DailyEmily and James Zoeller hold their newborn son, Ezra James Zoeller, Summit County's first baby of 2013.

The new year was only a couple days old when Summit County welcomed its first baby of 2013. Ezra James Zoeller was born at St. Anthony Summit Medical Center on Jan. 3 at 12:45 a.m.

His parents, Emily and James Zoeller, reside in Breckenridge. Originally from Michigan and Vermont, respectively, they met in Breckenridge seven years ago when both worked at the old restaurant at the golf course.

Now, James is the executive chef at Modis, a popular Breckenridge restaurant, and Emily works as a local photographer and artist.

This is the couple’s first child and while they are both snowboarders, they said they would allow him to choose between skiing or snowboarding when he gets older.

But for now, they’re content to spend time getting to know the newest member of their family.

“We’re very excited, and we’re so in love,” Emily said. “He’s the best.”
