Summit County’s best hiking trail: Mohawk Lakes

Just south of Breckenridge and a short jaunt off Highway 9, adventurous hikers can find one of the best intermediate day hikes in the county on the Mohawk Lakes Trail. The 7-mile loop meanders through historic mining ruins replete with abandoned ore cars before rewarding your climb upward with scenic waterfalls made by the Continental Falls spilling out into Lower Mohawk Lake. Continue onward to enjoy a victorious lunch accompanied by glorious views.
