Summit (finally) gets a powder day

SUMMIT COUNTY – After two consecutive storms missed the ski areas and pounded the Front Range instead, Summit County got its due Thursday night and Friday morning.

Area resorts reported between 6 and 8 inches as of 5 a.m. today, with plenty more snow falling since. Two different storms piled feet of snow on Denver and other areas in the last two weeks, while the High Country received 3-4 inches.

Forecasts call for 5-8 inches today, with more snow on Saturday and clearing on Sunday.
