Summit High School boys lacrosse switches to junior varsity schedule to finish season

Cody Jones/Summit Daily News
After playing seven games, the Summit High School boys lacrosse program and the Summit High School Athletics and Activities department have decided to suspend the boys varsity lacrosse team for the remainder of the season due to a lack of varsity-level players.
The team will be playing a junior-varsity schedule for the remainder of the season in order to build the skill level and experience of the current players.
The program faced a similar situation last spring when the Tigers had to forfeit several of its games due to a lack of roster depth. Summit forfeited its first varsity game of the 2024 spring season on Tuesday, April 2, against Battle Mountain High School. Meanwhile, the junior-varsity team recorded an 8-2 loss against Battle Mountain on the same day.
