Summit High’s Oakley Van Oss wins Congressional Service Award

Congressman Joe Neguse presented Summit High School teacher Oakley Van Oss with a Congressional Service Award at a Dec. 13 ceremony at Colorado University Boulder.

Each year, Neguse awards residents of Colorado’s 2nd Congressional District with service awards, and Van Oss won the 2024 Educator of the Year. Van Oss teaches welding, construction and Spanish.

Earlier this year, Van Oss also received national recognition for being one of the top skilled-trades educators in the country.
