Summit Historical Society says thanks
The Summit Historical Society thanks Doug Pierce and Julie Willing of the Arapahoe Cafe and Bonnie Q BBQ Catering Co. for hosting the Boarding House Bash, a fundraiser for the society. Doug and Julie created a theme dinner centered around what the miners in the late 1800s would have eaten. I guarantee no miner ate like that, the food was amazing. Also thank you to Rick Hague local mining expert on his presentation of the life of a miner. Our community is so fortunate to have people like Doug, Julie and Rick who donate their time and talents in support our our nonprofit organizations.

Summit Daily is embarking on a multiyear project to digitize its archives going back to 1989 and make them available to the public in partnership with the Colorado Historic Newspapers Collection. The full project is expected to cost about $165,000. All donations made in 2023 will go directly toward this project.
Every contribution, no matter the size, will make a difference.
