Summit Historical Society to host virtual talk on first ladies of the White House

The Summit Historical Society will host a virtual talk on the first ladies of the White House on Feb. 26, according to a news release.
The talk, which will take place from noon to 1 p.m. via Zoom will feature guest speaker Nancy Kegan Smith, the retired director of the presidential materials division at the National Archives and Records Administration.
Smith has a long career working at the National Archives Building in Washington, D.C., has written book chapters on Lady Bird Johnson and Michelle Obama, is the co-editor of “Modern First Ladies – Their Documentary Legacy” and gives lectures on first ladies and presidential records. She is the co-author of a textbook on first ladies and the president of the First Ladies Association for Research and Education.
During the talk, Smith will highlight her latest book. Registration is limited to 50 people and is required by Feb. 24. The cost is $20 and tickets can be purchased at SummitHistorical.org/events/nancy-smith-talk.
