Summit Middle School thanks PTSA
It is with great pleasure that we write this letter to express our gratitude to our wonderful Parent Teacher Student Association at Summit Middle School. What an incredible year it has been, and the PTSA has played such a huge role in it. The dynamic and caring members have gone above and beyond to make both students and staff at SMS feel valued and appreciated. Their presence and accessibility since the beginning of the school year invigorated our school community. Their philosophy was simple – if it benefited kids and their education, they were glad to help. We all felt a stronger connection to our school community and that is due to the PTSA. We would like to highlight some of the wonderful things that the PTSA has made possible here at SMS. Before every parent-teacher conference, the PTSA provided the staff with a wonderful buffet. This is a tremendous undertaking that is greatly appreciated. Each and every teacher has expressed their gratitude for the generous amount of money received at Winter Break to spend on our classrooms. It allowed us to give back in wonderful ways to our students. All the teachers and staff were able to utilize this money in their own ways: educational supplies, games, programs or experiences to promote student learning. The PTSA’s contributions allowed students to participate in activities at Arapahoe Basin, helped the library and media center purchase a laminator, and assisted the Spanish 2 class in financing transportation to see the play ‘Man of La Mancha’. The PTSA also contributed to the “Read Across America” program that promotes literacy within our school. Finally, during Teacher Appreciation Week, the PTSA showered teachers with gift cards, car washes and other tokens of appreciation. Teachers felt truly valued and this rejuvenated us to end the year more successfully.Thank you again to all parents and community members involved in the PTSA and Golden Fleece program. Your contribution is invaluable!
