Summit Middle School to host Colorado History Day competition


Area school students will compete March 18 at Summit Middle School for the opportunity to advance to the 25th annual statewide Colorado History Day competition, scheduled for April 29 in Boulder.Colorado History Day is the state’s affiliate of National History Day, the largest humanities education program in the country. The year-long program engages middle and high school students in the process of discovery and interpretation of historical topics. Students will present dramatic performances, museum-style exhibits, multimedia documentaries and research papers.More than 130 students will participate in the regional competition held in Frisco. The public is invited to view the exhibits between 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. in the middle school gym and cafeteria.
