Summit Optimist Club recognizes SHS senior

Jessica Giventer

The Summit-Lake Dillon Optimist Club has recognized Summit High School senior Jessica Giventer as Intern of the Month.

Giventer is serving an internship at the “Little Tiger Den,” the Summit High School Infant/Toddler Center. “Jessica arrives every day with a smile and a willingness to help out wherever she is needed,” said Giventer’s mentor, Jolene Lehman. “She takes the initiative to participate in activities and demonstrates exemplary behavior and skills when dealing with the infants and toddlers. She has established a positive relationship with the children and the other employees. She is truly a valued member of our team.”

Giventer’s long-term goal is to become a pediatrician.

“Working with children is something that I have always loved to do,” Giventer said. “I have always been interested in child development, such as how children play and how their minds change. Hopefully, with this internship, I will learn more about the care of children and it will help further the career that I hope to pursue.”The Intern of the Month award is a collaboration between Summit High School and the Summit-Lake Dillon Optimist Club.
