Summit Recycling Project guidelines
SRP Frisco and Breckenridge sites are open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday only.
Frisco drop-off site: located on Eighth Avenue next to the Frisco Fire Station.
Breckenridge drop-off site: located on County Road 450, one-fourth of a mile from Highway 9.
*Aluminum – Crush cans; aluminum foil and pie plates are okay if separated from cans.
Batteries – Automobile, household batteries (alkaline, carbon, zinc, nickel, lead or silver) and rechargeable batteries.
*Cardboard and paperboard – Flatten and mix clean cardboard, paperboard (such as cereal boxes, six-pack containers) and brown paper bags. No wax-coated cardboard, milk/soymilk cartons, juice boxes or other papers.
Cell phones – Accepted in boxes in battery shacks at Frisco.
*Glass bottles/jars – Rinse all glass containers. Separate brown glass from clear, yellow, green and blue glass. It is not necessary to remove labels from glass. No caps, corks, wine bottle foil, ceramic dishes, drinking glasses or windows.
Motor oil – Bring in gallon containers and carefully pour into the 500-gallon container at Frisco site only. No other fluids.
Motor oil filters – Place oil filter in 55-gallon bin. No other fluids or filters.
*Paper – Separate newspapers, magazines and office paper at Frisco drop-off site. At Breck site, newspapers, magazines and office pak can be mixed together.
*Newspaper – Inserts okay. No strings, bags or bundled paper.
*Magazines/catalogs – Any slick coated, stapled or small glue-bound papers. No phone books, junk mail or newspaper inserts.
*Office pak – White or pastel colored paper, envelopes (windows okay), copy paper,
computer paper, notebook paper, fax paper, yellow legal pad paper, opened mail, file
folders, postcards, brochures, receipts, index cards, post-it notes, attachments with staples and paper clips are okay. No manila envelopes, fluorescent or deep-toned paper, paper ream wrappers, self-adhesive labels, tyvek envelopes, groundwood paper, wrapping paper, carbon papers, paper bags, blue prints, newspapers, magazines, tissues, paper towels or paper cups.
Phone books – Place in phone book bins only. No other papers.
*Plastics – Separate No. 1 (soda, juice and beverage bottles, peanut butter jars okay), No. 2 colored bottles (shampoos, conditioners, lotion, detergent, household cleaning and juice bottles okay) and No. 2 translucent bottles (milk, water jugs, juice bottles okay). No plastic cups, tubs (e.g. yogurt containers), detergent scoops, motor oil containers or lids on bottles.
Scrap metal – Place in scrap metal bin at Frisco’s SRP only. No barbed wire, cable, fuel/propane tanks, televisions or computers.
*Tin (steel) cans – Rinse and flatten, labels okay.
Toner cartridge – Place in labeled box in battery shacks at SRP.
* Items with an asterisk (*) are also accepted at the mobile recycling trailer Monday through Wednesday at the Dillon Town Hall parking lot.
