Summit School Board to discuss superintendent candidates today

After three second-round interviews held Monday through Wednesday, the Summit School District Board of Education members plan to meet again today to potentially make a decision on a superintendent to replace Millie Hamner.

Hamner retired in December to take a position as House District 56 representative, and Karen Strakbein has been serving as interim superintendent, with a term finishing this summer.

From 5:30-7:30 p.m. in the central office, board members will consider Upper Blue Elementary School principal Kerry Buhler, Colorado Springs’ Academy School District 20 deputy superintendent Heidi Pace and Joel Ritchie, the zone superintendent for Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools in Charlotte, N.C.
