Summit school buses in top shape

SUMMIT COUNTY – Parents can rest assured that when their children step onto Summit school buses today, they’ll be riding in some of the safest vehicles on the road.Colorado State Patrol Cprl. Matt Ozanic conducted a thorough inspection of all the district’s school buses in August using the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations guidelines. Ozanic found no violations, save for a few minor paperwork problems that district staff corrected on the spot.”I would like to thank (bus storage facility director) Nancy Schnabel and her supportive staff for allowing me to inspect the school buses for safety and allowing the parents of Summit County to feel safe in allowing their children to ride in the buses,” Ozanic said.Colorado State Patrol and surrounding agencies will increase patrols within the school zones and conduct enforcement operations during peak school hours once classes begin on Tuesday.- Julie Sutor
