Summit School District holds 2nd round of superintendent interviews

Tonight, Tuesday and Wednesday, the Summit School District Board of Education members meet with the three superintendent finalists in a second round of interviews.

In open meetings from 7-9 p.m., it’ll host Upper Blue Elementary School principal Kerry Buhler, Colorado Springs’ Academy School District 20 deputy superintendent Heidi Pace and Joel Ritchie, the zone superintendent for Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools in Charlotte, N.C.

Buhler’s interview is slated for 7:30-9 tonight, after a half-hour social time. Ritchie undergoes the same routine on Tuesday and Pace on Wednesday.

As the selection process moves forward, board members will seek input from the administrative team, the central office staff, teachers, support staff, parents, students and community members to help make a decision.

A new superintendent should be selected by the middle of March.
