Summit School District seeks volunteers for ‘Celebrations Around the World’

The Silverthorne Pavilion and Summit School District are seeking volunteers representing a variety of ethnic backgrounds to host a booth for “Celebrations Around the World” on Thursday. The mission of the event is to share the clothing, language, money, food and other aspects of different cultures and countries with fourth- and fifth-graders from Summit’s elementary schools.

The event is open to the public in the evening to share this global perspective with our community. Volunteers will be provided with a stipend to purchase supplies and food. For additional info, contact Christine at (970) 262-7390, or by e-mail at

Summit Daily is embarking on a multiyear project to digitize its archives going back to 1989 and make them available to the public in partnership with the Colorado Historic Newspapers Collection. The full project is expected to cost about $165,000. All donations made in 2023 will go directly toward this project.

Every contribution, no matter the size, will make a difference.
