After making the Class 4A state playoffs for the first time since 2022, the Summit High School boys soccer team was eliminated in the first round on Thursday, Oct. 31.

The No. 27 Summit Tigers traveled to the Front Range on Thursday to take on No. 6 Longmont High School in the first round of the 2024 playoffs. Summit produced two goals in the first 40-minute half and was leading 2-1 at the midway point of the game, but it was not enough to hold off the 10-2-3 Longmont Trojans.

Longmont scored two goals in the second half, lifting the team over Summit with a 3-2 win. Longmont will now face No. 11 Evergreen High School on Wednesday, Nov. 6. Evergreen defeated No. 22 Lutheran High School, 2-0 on Thursday, Oct. 31.

Summit concludes the season with a record of 7-8-1. The seven-win season is the most victories second-year head coach JJ Bosgraaf has earned while at the helm of the program.

Summit will graduate a total of eight seniors from its varsity roster including defensive captain Reece Bosgraaf and offensive captain Juan Varon.
