After losing four consecutive games to start the 2023 fall soccer season, the Summit High School boys soccer team has found its groove on the pitch, winning three straight games over the last week.
Summit traveled to Palisade High School on Saturday, Sept. 9, and managed to record a 4-2 win against its 4A Western Slope league opponent. The league win gave Summit confidence against Evergreen High School on Tuesday, Sept. 12, where the Tigers were able to record their second win of the season, defeating the Cougars, 2-1.
Summit’s most recent win occurred on Thursday, Sept. 14, when the Tigers hosted Eagle Valley High School in Breckenridge for another league matchup.
With two first-half goals from junior Dayl Villegas and senior Santi Casco, Summit shutout Eagle Valley 2-0 to improve its record to 3-4 overall and 2-3 in league play.
The Tigers will now prepare for two home matches during homecoming week. Summit will host Battle Mountain High School at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 19, before hosting Atlas Preparatory School at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 23.
