Good morning and welcome to Summit Up, the world’s only daily column that’s tired and shagged-out following a prolonged squawk. Yep, folks, you caught us on New Year’s Day when our motor is all but wound down after all the festivities of the preceding few weeks. Phew! All this holidaze stuff just knocks us for a loop, and we look forward to the relative peace and quiet of January. And it’s January now, right? So we’re good to go. Ahhh …

We do have to mention, though, that we happened to mosey out to Copper Mountain on New Year’s Eve to check out the torchlight parade and the fireworks. We’re not sure if it’s the new owners or what, but it was a kick-booty fireworks display that seemed to go on forever (the fact that it was only about 5 degrees out might have contributed to the seeming longevity of the ‘works, but we’re not entirely sure).

Anyway, we know Summit County was rocking all over the place, but just a tip o’ the hat to the folks at Copper, who put on a great show.

Reports are still filtering in, but so far we haven’t heard of anyone getting too naughty on the Blue Moon New Year’s Eve.

Now that it’s January, our resolutions are in full gear, so we’re writing this while we’re going like a bat out of hell on a treadmill with nicotine patches all over our body and 17 different self-improvement books open in front of us. We’re gonna do it this year! Yeah! Join us!

We out.
