Summit Up 10-13-09

Summit Daily/Alex Miller

Good morning and welcome to Summit Up, the world’s only daily column that’s starting to feel a little bit like that town in that “Northern Exposure” show where there was always a moose walking around town. That seems to be Frisco these days, with moose sighting as thick as hen’s teeth on a sow’s belly, b’golly! Why, just Monday we were driving near the Marina and there was a bull moose the size of a 727 walking around like he owned the place. People were all curious, pulling over to take pictures and stuff, but we should remind everyone that a big ol’ bull moose is not like, say, a gerbil. He can get angry, he can get mean, and he can do some things with those antlers, hoo-boy! So enjoy the majesty from a distance, please!

We have a ‘nonamous Angel Alert! Angel Alert! today that reads thusly:

“Just wanted to send out kudos to the Summit High School students who were collecting for the food bank outside Safeway on Sunday afternoon. We’re all lucky to live in a place with such caring teens. Plus, thanks to all who participated in Make a Difference Day on Saturday.”

Well folks, outta room. Check ya Wednesday …
