Summit Up 12-27-12: Where we have a stash of Christmas cookies

Good morning and welcome to Summit Up, the world’s only daily column who’s wallet has a holiday hangover. Thus the reason for our pinching pennies for the rest of the year, likely into January, through February and maybe we’ll splurge once again in March. Though our splurge sesh is not shaping up to be a very big one.

How tiresome the commercialization of Christmas can be. We’re shaken up over here after having gone down to Denver for a shopping trip prior to the holidays. It was a traumatic experience.

Us mountain folk aren’t used to the traffic to get to the mall and the long lines to buy things we don’t really even like by the time we’ve been standing in line for 20 minutes.

Nonetheless, the gift-giving has concluded, the holiday cheer has been spread and the overeating must stop (along with the spending). We have more Xmas cookies than we know what to do with.

Is it kosher to re-gift goodies? If not, we really need to start brainstorming on what we’re going to do with our surplus of snickerdoodles, gingersnaps, sugar cookies, brownies and pie. We’re accepting ideas: Send them along to summitup@summitdaily.com

See ya on the slopes. We out.
