Summit Up

Good morning and welcome to Summit Up, the world’s only daily column talking about some heroic delivery drivers.

While we know the papers were horribly late on Monday ” they got out on the racks by 2 p.m. or so ” we can’t say it wasn’t without quite a bit of effort. With roads closed in every direction, our drivers drove all the way through Steamboat, down to Kremmling and then down into Summit County, battling drifts and snow and wind like they’ve done it before ” this is usually an annual event at some point.

It took, as far as we can tell, as much guts as anything to get papers here. And, once we saw them arrive, we felt a big sense of relief. After all, we have a streak going here of 17 years straight of delivering our daily paper, and would hate to have seen something like snow block our way. And, we know how those crossword addicts get when they don’t get their fix.

If you missed the paper, we have plenty at the Corporate Suites in Frisco. It’s our year-end wrap-up edition, so think of it like a collector’s item … that also can line your bird cage or start a fire.

It’s Tuesday, Jan. 1, and we’re wishing everyone a Happy New Year! E-mail us at
