Summit Up 2-15-13: Love flies with the snowflakes

Summit Up

Good morning and welcome to Summit Up, the world’s only daily column that has love in the air, or at least in the air at Loveland Ski Area.

Eighty-eight couples attended Thursday’s 22nd annual Mountaintop Matrimony event at Loveland to tie the knot and renew their vows. One couple even came all the way from New South Whales, Australia!

It’s a Loveland tradition to have a mass wedding among these hardy folk who dare to get hitched while the snow flies all around. It all happens at Ptarmigan Roost Cabin, 12,050 feet above sea level. Five inches of snow fell during the ceremony, making for the perfect wedding gift! For some, anyway. Like those guys shredding it up above.
