Summit Up 3-8-11: Featuring mortal kombat with wiper blades

Good morning and welcome to Summit Up, the world’s only daily column that now knows what to do when you catch your wiper blades locked in mortal combat.Well, one suggestion is to start placing bets on them and see which one prevails. On a long car trip, this could prove more exciting than watching “Back to the Future” or “Groundhog Day” for the umpteenth time on the minivan’s DVD player. The other, though, is to simply tighten the nut that holds the wiper arm onto the car. Sometimes, we discovered, said nut can get loose, resulting in the aforementioned wiper blade battle. It was pretty entertaining, but we’re happy to have things back to normal. Now if we could just replace those antedulivian wiper blads that always leave a smear of icy snow directly in our line of vision …***OK, here’s an Angel Alert! Angel Alert! from frequent Frisco alerter Tom Castrigno, who writes thusly:”I wish to thank John & Bob at Mountain High Plumbing & Heating in Dillon for taking care of our furnace and getting our heat going. Bob was able to come out the same day we called (President’s Day, no less) and was professional, courteous and most importantly prompt with scheduled service times. John went the extra mile for us on several counts, all much appreciated. Thanks for your help, guys!”Excellent service is always good to hear about. If you’ve got a shout-out, let us know at summitup@summitdaily.com.Gotta run … until tomorrow!
