Good morning and welcome to Summit Up, the world’s only daily column with something to get off its chest – namely the cat that crawled up there while we were sleeping.”At least he wasn’t sleeping on your head,” the Summit Up staffers tell us, noting that’s what most of their cats do.

We don’t normally sleep on backs, but that’s how we woke up Saturday morning, as we mentioned, opening our eyes to see green orbs and whiskers staring back at us. We don’t know about you, but we’ll take that over getting licked in the face by the dog any day.***Todd B. in Frisco read the missive from Cap’n Freshies earlier this week about how the moon should have a much cooler name than it does. Todd did a little research and found out we aren’t the first people to complain about this.

He dropped off some Internet research that indicates the following: NASA isn’t in charge of naming the moon, or any other astronomical body; that responsibility goes to the International Astronomical Union. Also, the moon’s name is the Moon, just as the sun is the Sun, and our planet is the Earth. There’s also some chat room stuff about astronomy magazines having contests to come up with a name for the Moon, but it appears most people are happy with the boring old name.Sorry, Cap’n. Looks like you’re out on a limb with this one.

***That’s all for this lovely Sunday, ladies and gentlemen. Tell us what was sleeping on your chest when you woke up at summitup@summitdaily.com, fax at (970) 668-0755 or just snore on the voicemail at (970) 668-3998, ext. 237.We’re out shopping for lint rollers …
